As hosts of this summer's tournament, the Germans were not required to play in qualifiers last year. Instead, they booked 11 friendlies, but poor form throughout the year meant they only won three of them.
Coincidentally, the last time Belgium defeated a European side was against England last year, as Thomas Muller and Leroy Sane scored to secure a 2-1 friendly victory in Dortmund.
That was also the only loss of 2023 for the French, who cruised through Euro qualifying and look very much like favourites to win the continental championship.
